COVID-19: Al- Mustapha Advocates ‘No Mask No Movement’ Policy In Kano

A renowned Kano based businessman and community development advocate, Alhaji Hadi Al-Mustapha has revealed that a no mask no movement policy will best suit Kano state in the present fight against the spread of COVID-19, stressing that, such policy will grant small businesses to function effectively.

Speaking on the current situation in Kano, Al-Mustapha said that to cushion the situation further, the state government should domesticate the mass production of face mask and hand sanitizers for onward distribution to a resident at no cost insisting that these approach couple with observing social distance regulations will aid assist in curbing the spread of the virus.

While decrying the loss of prominent Kano sons and daughters in recent times, the younger brother to Major Hamza Al – Mustapha explained that majority of the deaths reported had occurred inside the walls of the ancient city, further noting that the affected areas are the most densely populated parts of the city, urging the state government to as a matter of urgency enforce environmental hygiene procedures and to draw a short and long term template that would facilitate decongestion and administer best hygiene practices.

He added that the fight against COVID-19 shouldn’t be an unlined process as not all that worked in a particular place will have a similar effect in the other,   stressing that Kano requires diversified tactics since it’s an environment, orientation, culture and psychology differs, he suggested for an invoking of partial lockdown as against total lockdown in the state.
