Customs Arrest Car Dealer, Seal Up Premises In Kano
Nigeria Customs Service on Friday arrested a car dealer and sealed up the business premises with exotic vehicles in Kano.
The Customs personnel from the Strike Force Team Zone B, created a scene at Obasanjo way by Civic Centre in the metropolis, when they operated in a Gestapo manner by locking down the road with eight Hilux van fully armed, according to an eyewitness.
The eyewitness told Solacebase that the Customs men arrived in the area around 8.40pm and whisked away the owner of IBM Motors Nig Ltd. (Name withheld) in handcuff and sealed off the premises.
‘’When they arrived here, they created tension as most of the car dealers in area were scared as the Customs personnel cordoned off both exit before going into the IBM Motors premises to arrest the owner in a humiliating manner, ‘’said the witness.
He said they heard them insisting on taking away most of the vehicles in the company.
However, one of the Customs officers told Solacebase that they are not from Kano/Jigawa command of the service but on instruction to arrest the owner and seal up the premises.
Efforts to speak with Zonal Customs Public Relations Officer, Zone ‘B’ Headquarters, Kaduna, SC Ado Abdulkarim was abortive as his phone did not connect.
