Edo: Tinubu presents flag to APC governorship candidate, deputy

President Bola Tinubu has met with the leadership of the Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting, which had the party’s candidate for the upcoming governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon Dennis Idahosa, in attendance, was aimed at ironing some disagreements out.

The President also presented the party’s flag to the Governorship Candidate and his running mate.

Mr Idahosa is also expected to withdraw his protest litigation against the candidature of Okpebholo as part of the resolutions earlier reached to resolve the impasse around the Governorship primary in Edo State.

The primary election that eventually produced Okpebholo as a candidate had initially run into a controversy as Idahosa was first declared by Governor Hope Uzodinma-led committee.

The first round of primary was, however, declared inconclusive by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, owing to a number of irregularities.
