The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has donated cows and food items to inmates in Custodial Centres in the State.
The governor, who made the donation through the Chairperson of the Kano State Prerogative of Mercy Committee, Hajiya Azumi Namadi Bebeji, said his action aims to enable them celebrate Eid-el-fitr marking in funfair.

Bebeji encouraged the inmates to have a sense of belonging as they are part of the society. She also assured them of relentless support and assistance from the state government.
She, however, called on the inmates to pray for the governor as well as the state government so that they would continue to provide the dividends of democracy to all and sundry.

On his part, the Controller of Corrections Kano state command Salaiman M Inuwa appreciated the state government for the huge gesture and informed the governor’s envoy that the Service is always ready to partner the government to enhance criminal justice administration in the state.
He also appreciated the governor’s for the donations and went further to say that it will motivate the inmates to become productive and law-abiding citizens after discharge.
