Famous photojournalist, Maikatanga wins GLF Africa award 2022 photo competition
A freelance Photo Journalist Muhammad Sani Maikatanga has won the GLF Africa 2022 Photo Competition.
Maikatanga a renowned photojournalist in Nigeria became the first Winner after receiving the highest votes.
His photograph, Fishers on Run taken from the Argungu Fishing Festival fetched him the award.
Maikatanga, an indigene of Nasarawa local government area of Kano State, used to work with Media Trust, Publishers of Daily Trust.
The GLF also announced Lungisani Mjaji with Light as photograph as second runner up.
Solacebase reports that Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement.

The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress.
The forum in a release over the weekend said said over 700 photographs were received in the competition illustrating Africa’s breath- taking landscapes and the judges include Tony Wild, Anita Moragia, Neema Jodie, Donald J. Mwangi and Kandi.
