4

The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, approved bill seeking the establishment of a proposed Electoral Offences Commission and fresh bill for the amendment of Electoral Act.

The meeting similarly set up a ministerial committee to investigate the tremors experienced in some parts of Abuja last week.

These were part of the decision at the FEC meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari where he decried dwindling revenues from oil and agricultural sectors.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Barr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), who was one of the ministers that briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, said the FEC approved three bills for transmission to and passage by the National Assembly.

Malami explained that the proposed approved bills by the Councils are the Constitution Alteration Bill (2018); Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill (2018); and the Electoral Offences Commission Bill (2018).
