Forum holds special prayer session for NNPP national leader, Kano governor

Western Nigeria People Political Forum, a group of Yoruba-speaking people on Saturday organized special prayers for Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso amid the current controversy trailing the NNPP national leadership.

SOLACEBASE reports that the dust raised by the crisis currently rocking the party’s national leadership is yet to settle as the matter recently took a new dimension,  prompting the former Kano Governor to opt for litigation.

However, convener of the forum, Alhaji Abdullateef Abdulsalam says the move for the prayers is to support the Kwankwasiyya leader to overcome the current situation due to his immense contributions to the success of the party in the last general elections.

Alhaji Abdulsalam, who was a former special adviser to Kwankwaso, says participants at the prayer session including Muslims and Christians, also prayed for the Kano State governor, Abba Kabiru Yusuf and his Deputy, Comrade Abdussalam Gwarzo for God’s guidance to governing the state successfully.

The prayer was led by One of the Imams and current chairman caretaker Yoruba community, Imam Abduljelil Olugbenga Abdulyakeen, and Pastor Rotimi Dare.

Imam Abduljelil led the Muslim faithful in supplicating to almighty Allah as well as reciting selected verses of the Glorious Quran and also, Pastor Rotimi led the Christians in reading the holy bible in praying for the general well-being, continual success, and growth of Kano State, also the presidential candidate of NNPP in 2023 general election, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the New Nigeria Political Party (NNPP), and the country at large.

Also speaking, Chief Jerry Agunbiade, the second in command to Oba Yoruba in Kano representing the Oba, lauded the governor for providing social amenities for the community, also congratulated the governor for his achievement in the first 100 days in Office.

He then urged the governor not to relent in making life easier for the masses and also to fulfill all the promises he made during the electioneering period.

In attendance were: Imam Ghazali, Alhaji Bello Yarda, Alfa Abdussallam, Mall. Abdulwaheed Alaya, Pastor Olowole Oloyede, Elder Femi, Asst. Pastor Mayowa Babatunde, Mall. Isiaq Abdul, Women leader for the Yoruba community in Kano, Hajiya Hafsoh Abdurrazaq, among others.
