Foundation to train 6,000 Almajiri across 6 northern states

A Non- Governmental Organization, Khalifa Dankade, and Co. , also known as KDC foundation has concluded arrangement to train about 6,000 Almajiri across 6 northern states for them to be self-reliant with qualitative education.

The founder of the organisation, Khalifa Usman Dankade, announced this on Tuesday, during a visit to Solacebase headquarters in Kano.

Dankade said the KDC Foundation established in 2014, is working with governments at all levels, towards the reformation of the Almajiri system.

He said the organisation in achieving this aim is engaging critical stakeholders , especially the  media so as to educate and sensitize the people with reformation of Almajiri system.

Dankade applauded the role of Solacebase in promoting humanitarian activities and support of community services.

‘’Your news medium has become a highly responsible and acceptable platform  with its credibility, fairness and objectivity in reportage,’’ Khalifa Dankade said.

‘’Hence we’re seeking your collaboration to carry-out this our new project tagged Community library project phase 3 that started in September.’’

‘’The pilot scheme of the project supported by American Embassy in Abuja is taking place in six states that include , Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Niger and Zamfara .’’

According to him, one hundred Almajiri will be selected from ten schools in the selected states for the program.

He explained that the project will review and validate the curriculum of Tsangaya schools for standardization and include essential component that will ensure Almajiri can be self-reliant after graduation from schools.

On his part, Solacebase Publisher and Chief Executive Officer, Fridabs Solacebase Communication Ltd, Abdullateef Abubakar Jos lauded the initiative of the foundation which in no small measure address the challenges facing the Almajiri system of education.

He expressed readiness of the online newspaper to collaborate with the foundation to achieve the set objectives.
