Free Medical Outreach: Over 3,000 Kano residents benefit

More than three thousand residents of Kofar-Mata and neighboring communities in Kano metropolis benefited from a free medical outreach program organized by the State Commissioner, Ministry for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar-Mata.

A statement issued by the chief information officer, Kano State Ministry for Higher Education Sanusi Abdullahi Kofar Na’isa, on Sunday, said the program took place at Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani Jumu’at mosque, on Saturday.

The statement said Dr. Yusuf Kofar-mata noted that the essence of the program was to contribute his quota in alleviating the current hardships that people are facing, especially in the health sector.

It said the commissioner urged the beneficiaries to cultivate a healthy lifestyle and use the medicine given to them judiciously.

‘’Dr. Kofar-mata further disclosed that the program was organized as part of activities to celebrate 100 days of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in office.

“The main aim behind the initiative is to thank Allah for the remarkable achievements and success recorded by Yusuf led administration, within 100 days of assuming office as Kano State Governor,’’ the statement said.

“I will use this opportunity to call on the good people of Kano to continue praying for the present administration to take Kano to greater heights.’’

At the outreach, the medical practitioners offered services to the beneficiaries, that include medical check-ups, diagnoses, and free medication.

Most of the beneficiaries lauded the Commissioner for initiating the program which they described as timely considering the current predicament of economic challenges.
