GandujeGate : Kano High Court Adjourns Sitting To November 21

A Kano State High Court on Monday adjourned till November 21, 2018 for hearing of the originating summon of a suit filed before it by a group of lawyers challenging the legality of the State House of Assembly investigative Committee into the $5m bribery allegation against Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The case came up today for ruling on an injunction that restrained Kano State House of Assembly and the Committee Chairman Baffa Babba Danagundi, the 1st and 2nd respondents in the case, from taking further actions in investigation of bribery allegation against governor Ganduje.

Counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister Khalid Abdulhafiz  reminded the court that the injunction had restrained the 1st and 2nd respondents from inviting or investigate any further video clips, investigating or further proceeding with the allegation against governor Ganduje.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Muhammad Sa’idu Waziri assured that his clients being lawmakers would not in any way disobey court by taking any further action related to the bribery allegation.

In his ruling, Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamasi granted the injunction and  adjourned the case till November 21, 2018 for hearing on the originating summons.
