GAP lauds Ganduje over Lamin’s appointment as Special Adviser

A group of local government administration assessors, Grassroot Administration Platform (GAP), based in Northern Nigeria, has lauded Kano state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for appointing Lamin Sani Zawiya as Special Adviser, Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Hailing the appointment in a letter sent to the governor and signed by Coordinator of the group, David Samuel Gidanwaya, they said such appointment was apt and deserving, “Looking at the pedigree of the appointee.”

This was contained in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, on Sunday.

The letter reads, “As former Chairman of the Kano state Branch of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) 2018 to 2021 and former Chairman of Nasarawa local government, his appointment shows how committed the governor is when it comes to effective local government administration system.”

“Lamin Sani’s appointment by His Excellency, the Governor, is a clear indication that Kano state lays great emphasis in grassroot development,” says the letter.

They also revealed that, they have been following the trend of the newly appointed Special Adviser, since during his days as Chairman of Nasarawa local government.

Explaining that “…of which we came to a conclusion that taking him on board, will at the same time strengthen the idea of effectively taking local governments to next level of development.”
