The speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila on Thursday appointed 17 members from Kano state as chairmen and deputy chairmen of various committees.
The list read on the floor of the house at plenary on Thursday indicated that 17 out of the 24 federal lawmakers from Kano heads and deputizes various house committees
According to the list obtained by Solacebase those heading various committees as chairmen include Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada (Kano Municipal); National Security and Intelligence ,Mahmoud Abdullahi Gaya (Albasu/ Gaya/Ajingi); Petroleum resources (downstream), Nasiru Ali Ahmed (Nassarawa); Public procurement, Aminu Sulaiman (Fagge) ;Tertiary Institutions ,Alhassan Rurum (Rano/Kibiya/Bunkure); Pension and Munir Babba (Kumbotso); Agricultural colleges and institutions
Others include Sani Bala (Kunchi/Tsanyawa) Public service matters, Tijjani Jobe (Tofa/Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa); Rural Development Ali Muhammad (Wudil/Garko); Labour, employment and productivity, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar (Bichi); Works, Kabiru Idris (Kura/Madobi/Garun Malam); Civil Society and Development Partners, Mustapha Dawaki (Dawakin Kudu/Warawa); Housing and Habitat.
While those named as deputy chairmen are , Alhassan Ado Doguwa (Doguwa/Tudun Wada), Constitutional Review, Badamasi Ayuba Danbatta(Dambatta/Makoda); House Service, Lawan Ken Ken (Gwale) , Public Petition,Afeez Kawu(Tarauni); Banking and Currency and Isa Dederi (Karaye/Rogo); Federal Judiciary.
