Gov. Yusuf assents 2023 supplementary budget into law

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has assented the 2023 Supplementary budget worth fifty-eight billion, one hundred and ninety-one million, five hundred and thirty-five thousand, eighteen-naira, twelve kobo (N58, 191, 535, 018.12).

SOLACEBASE reports that while assenting the budget, the governor, assured the good people of Kano state that his administration will adhere to the principles of fiscal discipline as the money appropriated will be judiciously utilized in an accountable and transparent manner.

This was contained in a statement issued by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, on Friday.

“This supplementary budget is meant to take care of the infrastructural development that were not captured by the 2023 budget to meet the aspirations of the good people of Kano state” the statement explained

‘’Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner, Planning and Budget for the speedy process of the budget document to the state assembly.

Earlier, the Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, Jibrin Ismail Falgore who led the Principal officers of the assembly and its appropriation committee, presented the bill for the assent of the Governor at Africa House, Kano Government House.

The Governor also craved for continued support and a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of government in Kano state.
