JUST IN: Appeal Court dismisses Melaye’s suit challenging Adeyemi’s election
Abuja division of the Court of Appeal on Tuesday dismissed the appeal filed by Dino Melaye, challenging the electoral victory of Senator Smart Adeyemi as the winner of Kogi West Senatorial District.
In a unanimous judgement by a three-man panel, the court resolved all seven issues, identified for determination, against the appellant Dino Melaye.
The court upheld the judgment delivered on June 10, 2020, by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, that sat in Abuja, which affirmed the declaration of Smart Adeyemi as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Also, the appellate court, awarded N50, 000 costs against Dino Melaye and in favour of the respondents.
