The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has commenced proceedings of the scheduled arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, though the CJN is not around.
The members of the Danladi Umar-led three-man tribunal arrived the courtroom at exactly 10am.
A court official announced the case observed that CJN was not present and then notified the tribunal chairman of the development at exactly 10.01am.
After the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Aliyu Umar (SAN), announced his appearance with four other lawyers as the tribunal asked the court official whether the CJN had been served with the charges and summons, in which the official answered in affirmative.
Also the defence counsel with 71 lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) has 48 SANs in the team
