JUST IN : Court restrains PDP from dissolving Kano executives
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has issued an order restraining the national working committee of the People’s Democratic Party from dissolving Kano executive members of the party.
Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo his ruling, on Tuesday warned PDP that it shall allow the leadership of PDP in Kano from ward to state level to continue to operate pending the determination of the suit.
Solacebase reports that the plaintiffs in the suit are Shehu Wada Sagagi, Bashir Tanko Muhammaed, Ali Tijani Ansaru and Gambo Jamil Abba while the defendants are Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Recalls that a week ago some PDP stakeholders had a news conference in Kano demanding the dissolution of executives of the party in Kano.
According to the stakeholders, the party executives in the state are loyalists of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who has defected to NNPP and accused of efforts to destabilize the PDP in the state
