UPDATED: Ganduje appoints sacked commissioner, Muazu Magaji, Chairman, AKK Gas Project

Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has appointed his sacked commissioner for Work and Infrastructure, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji as Chairman State Gas Pipeline Project Delivery and Gas Industrialization Committee.

The letter of appointment sighted by Solacebase was dated 29^th October 2020 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate, Office of the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Bilikisu Shehu Maimota.

Solacebase recalls that Engr. Mu’azu Magaji was sacked on 18th April due to statement he made on social media mocking late Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari.

Some of his posts on Facebook after the demise of Abba Kyari who died of COVID-19 said:

“Win win… Nigeria is free and Abba kyari ya mutu a cikin annoba… Mutuwar shahada in Har da Imani mutum ya cika,” Mu’azu said on his Facebook page.

“Abba kyari is no ordinary citizen he amassed so much power that decides the fate of my nation and its people.. Hence his death is never a personal death!”

“I am not a hypocrite and I won’t pretent! While at personal level I pray Allah grant Abba Kyari Jannah… I sincerely believe Nigeria needed a better CoS period!”

“For the good of Nigeria & Mr President… The CoS office should be split… A PPS & a humble manager of his office as CoS.. It’s currently too powerful for non elected official”

“I am perfectly aware of the storm I am in… The fact, however, is I know what comes from the heart or that what is purchased!

You all will come around!”

The Committee is to among other things, coordinate in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the NNPC-AKK Gas Pipeline Project as well as to liaise with the NNPC for all information, assistance and enablers required either from Kano State Government to NNPC or from NNPC to the Kano State Government towards the implementation of the project.

The letter read: your appointment into the committee is predicated upon your professional qualification, vast experience, patriotic disposition and hoped that you bring these sterling qualities to bear on the assignment in line with the collective resolve to promote the overall development of the State.

The other members of the committee are, Alhaji Kabiru Musa Adamu (Chairman, MAN Sharada/Challawa Branch), representatives of  Ministries of Finance, Planning and Budget, Commerce & Industry, Works and Infrastructure, Justice, Environment, Information, Bureau of Land Management, Kano Urban Planning Development Agency (KNUPDA), KANIVEST, Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), Special Adviser, Foreign Investment and Substantive Permanent Secretary, member and Head of Secretariat.
