JUST IN: Gombe imposes curfew on three communities over violence
Gombe State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Nyuwar, Jessu and Yolde communities in the Balanga Local Government Area of the state with immediate effect.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who made the announcement, said the decision followed the violence that erupted in the communities.
This was contained in a statement issued by Director-General ( Press Affairs) Gombe Government House Ismaila Uba Misilli on Tuesday and obtained by Solacebase.
Solacebase reports that five persons have been reportedly killed in the communal clash between two border towns of Nyuwar/Jessu in Gombe made up of Waja people and Lunguda in Adamawa.

The statement said the curfew becomes necessary to douse the tension and restore peace and order in the affected areas.
It said security personnel have been deployed to restore normalcy while the curfew will subsist until further notice.
