A Kano High Court on Monday adjourned a suit challenging the legality of the law creating 4 new Emirates and appointment of new Emirs in the Emirates to November 14 for Judgement.
Solacebase recalled the suit was filed by Rabiu Gwarzo against the Speaker, Kano House of Assembly; the Kano State House of Assembly; the Kano State government; Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the State Attorney General and the Kano government printer.
The suit is challenging the Kano State Emirs’ Appointment And Disposition Amendment Law, 2019.
At the resumed hearing on Monday, the Plaintiff Counsel, Barrister AB Mahmud filed an affidavit seeking to amend the originating summons
In his submission,, Counsel to the Speaker, Louis Mathew-Alozie, SAN objected to the motion for the amendment urging the court to strike out the case for lack of merit.
One of the defendants in the suit, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje was represented in the court by his Counsel, Barr. Yusuf Ali SAN
The presiding Judge, Justice Usman Na’aba then adjourned to November, 14 for judgment.
