Kano State Government has directed the closure of all public and Private Schools in the State with immediate effect.
The state Commissioner for Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Kiru announced this in a statement signed and issued on Tuesday.
Solacebase reports that though no reason was given for the closure of schools, it may not be related with a spike in cases of COVID-19 in some parts of the country, that led to the closure of schools in some states including Kaduna.
Also, some attributed the closure to security challenges considering the attack on a boarding school in Katsina where over 600 students were abducted last Friday and 333 still missing.

‘’Parents whose children are in boarding schools are to also arrange and convey their children/ wards back home from tomorrow, Wednesday, 16th December 2020., said the statement.
