One of the pioneers and founding member of the Northern Elements Progressives Union (NEPU) Malam Muhammad Dauda Dangalan is dead.
Dauda Dangalan a first republic politician died in Kano on Saturday after a protracted illness at his residence at 95.
A source told Solacebase that his funeral prayers and buried would hold this evening.
The late Dauda Dangalan started his political career at the age of 21 and has been at the forefront of the movement for the liberation of the masses.
He was also a contemporary of Malam Iliya, Adamu Danjaji, Abbah Cashier, Bello Idowu, Malam Abba Kwaru, Malam Shehu Shettima, Sani Darma and many others. He served in various capacity in the defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

He served as commissioner for Local Government in 1983 during Alhaji Sabo Bakinzuwo administration.
He was also a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, left behind 13 children and over 60 grandchildren.
