Kano Anti-graft Agency Trains Staff For Greater Productivity

Kano State Public Complaints and anti-Corruption Commission has organized a week-long training program for the entire staff of the commission.
The Chairman of the Commission Barr Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado said the training was to enhance their capacity to meet the emerging challenges.
He said the training was designed to address general and specific issues regarding the functions of the commission as the training was conducted in three phases.
A statement issued by the Commission Director, Special Assignment, Malam Usman Bello obtained by Solacebase on Monday in Kano said the Commission Chairman stated this while addressing the participants at the training.
‘’Phase one covered the general service guidelines and rules. An expert in the field of Administration, Shehu Sani Shehu, presented a paper on work Ethic, discipline and service regulation,’’ said the statement.
The statement said Barr Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado while presenting two papers: one x-raying the commission’s enabling law and the other on the role the desk officers receiving and investigating complaints, guided the participants on powers and limitations of the commission as contained in the enabling laws.
It said that he challenged them to be proactive and understand that there is always a work noting that even if a staff was not assigned specific assignment he is expected go into archives to read previous actions taken on some issue in order to get himself equipped for any assignment he might be given.
The administrative action that the commission is mandated to investigate, according to Barr Muhuyi “are those that will occasion injustice to any citizen of the state or resident in the state.” He further added, “ it is noteworthy that the commission duties are geared towards preventing maladministration and a considerable degree reduce the prevalence of corruption in our society.”
The statement noted that a Part-time member of the commission who is a retired State Security Service Officer, M B Musa presented a paper on intelligence gathering
Also, the chairman of public petition and ant-corruption at the Kano State House of Assembly Alhaji Umar Musa Gama assured the commission of the House commitment to support it in its undertakings
All the commission staff participated at the training with the newly recruited staff, Local Government Desk Officers, Investigators and Prosecutors
