Kano Anti Graft Agency Unfolds New Strategy To Fight Corruption
Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has promised to develop a platform for collaboration with religious leaders for the sensitization of the general public to join the fight against corruption in the state.
Chairman of the Commission Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado hinted this on Monday when he received Executive members of the Interfaith Network Against Corruption in his office.
A statement issued by the Commission Director Special Assignment, Malam Usman Bello said the chairman requested the group to develop memorandum of understanding for collaborative efforts with the commission towards raising public awareness and participation in the fight against the menace.
‘’ Religious leaders are the most significant players in public mobilization as such they have a strategic role in bringing people on board to individually and collectively to tackle corruption, said the statement.
He assured them of the commission´s commitment to partner with critical stakeholders like their body to deliver on its mandates.
Barr Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado informed the visitors that the commission has assisted various individuals and organizations to recover their belonging that was unjustly taken over by either individuals or public organizations.
Earlier the Co-Chair of the Network Bishop John Namaza Niyiring said they were at the commission to seek areas of collaboration with to jointly tackle Corruption in the society.
The Interfaith Network Against corruption is co-chaired by Islam and Christian religious clerics.
