Kano Anti Graft Agency Withdraws Invitation letters Of Medical Beneficiaries Of Emirate Council Fund

Kano State Public Complaints And Anti- Corruption Commission on Thursday withdraw letters of invitations extended to some beneficiaries of medical assistance from Kano Emirate Council for interrogation.

Solacebase recalled that the Anti-Graft agency is investigating alleged misappropriation of Kano Emirate Fund to the tune of N3.4bn based on a petition written by a group of people.

The commission had earlier invited some beneficiaries medical assistance from Kano Emirate Council in a letter dated June 17th for clarification

A letter addressed to the Secretary of the Kano Emirate Council by the Commission Director Public Complaints and Mediation Salisu Tahir dated June 20^th said the Commission did not know any of the person among the invited personalities.

The letter cited by Solacebase said the invitation to the said beneficiaries of medical assistance became pertinent due to the fact that the document for the medical trip does not containedany referral letter from Nigerian Hospital to the designated as well as evidence supporting the trip to give credence to the claim.

It said the commission suspected the expenditures were none existence due to the failure of the Emirate Council to cooperate with the commission investigation with provision of information.

It noted that with this , it withdraws the earlier letters dated June 17^th and urged the the Emirate Council to provide the commission with all referral letters for the medical assistance given to individuals from the fund and also evidence of admission/attendance at the designated hospitals abroad.

The letter added that the provision of the information is in pursuant to section 31 of the Kano State Public Complaints And Anti- Corruption Commission Law 2008 (as amended)
