Kano Assembly Approves N15bn Loan Request By Ganduje
Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday approved a N15bn loan request by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The Speaker of the House AbdulAzeez Garba Gafasa presided over the plenary where a report by the House Committee on Local Governments headed by Deputy Majority leader, Alhaji Kabiru Hassan-Dashi on the governor’s request was received
After receipt of the report, the lawmakers gave the approval on the governor’s request as the loan would be repaid with a 15% interest rate within 30 months.

According to the report, the committee recommended the approval of the request.
After intensive deliberations, the Lawmaker adopted the motion and approved the request.
The Speaker had on Monday read the governor’s letter seeking approval to allow the 44 local government areas of the state to access the loan from a commercial bank.
Solacebase recalled that according to the letter the loan is aimed at financing the state government free and compulsory education program.
