Kano assembly confirms screened commissioner nominees

The Kano State House of Assembly, has confirmed 16 commissioner nominees screened on Wednesday for their appointment as members of the State Executive Council/Parastatals commissioners.

The Speaker , Ismail Jibrin Falgore at plenary on Thursday, said the confirmation was predicated on a motion by the House Majority Leader, Lawan Husaini Dala which was deliberated upon  at the committee of the whole after which they were confirmed.

The confirmed nominees who were screened by the house include: Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, Ali Haruna Makoda, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, Danjuma Mahmud, Musa sulaiman Shanono, Abbas Sani Abbas, Ladidi Garko, Marwan Ahmad, Muhd Diggol.

Others are Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata, Safiyanu Hamza, Tajuddeen Othman Ungogo, Nasiru Sule Garo, Barr. Haruna Isa Dederi and Baba Halilu Dantiye.

SOLACEBASE reports that two of the commissioner nominees who are yet to be confirmed are presently in Saudi Arabia performing Hajj rites and would be screened on their return to the country.

The deputy governor is also a commissioner nominee who is already a member of the state executive council by virtue of his swearing in.

Meanwhile, the House has constituted a selection committee that would be responsible for sub committees formation headed by the Speaker, Ismail Jibrin Falgore and the Clerk of the House Alhaji Ali Maje is to serve as Secretary of the committee.
