Kano State House of Assembly has nullified the suspension of Kumbotso local government council Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Ado Panshekara with a suspension letter issued to the council members that carried out the act.
A letter written to Kumbotso local government council Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Ado Panshekara by the Secretary, Kano House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Council Affairs, Lawan Yusuf Sagagi, suspended the seven council members for violating constitutional provision as contained in the Kano State Government Law, 2006 section 55(1) and insubordination to the state assembly.
Those suspended are : Yusuf Ibrahim Kumbotso, Aminu Sani Panshekara, Najiyu Magaji Liman Danbare and Lawan Umar Mariri.

Others include, Hamza Abdulkarim, Aminu Haruna and Magaji Alasan.
Solacebase had reported that the seven council members had suspended Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Ado Panshekara for 14 months over alleged embezzlement of the council’s fund amounting to over N177 million.
Similarly, the councillors passed a vote of confidence on the council’s vice chairman Alh. Sagir Abdul Kadir Panshekara to take over the leadership of the council pending the conclusion of the investigation against the embattled chairman.
The House of Assembly letter noted that the suspension of the Council members from October, 2nd to January, 2nd, 2021.
Speaking to Solacebase on the issue, the Committee Chairman, Kano House of Assembly, Alhaji Zubairu Hamza Massu, representing Sumaila constituency said the suspension of the Council Chairman carried out by the seven members was not done in accordance with the law.
He explained that while an investigation into the crisis is ongoing the seven council members remain suspended.
”We requested to see the seven members so as to address the issues but they said they were in Abuja. So in other to ensure that there is peace as their action was wrong, hence the Assembly suspended them.”
