Kano bags 2 prestigious awards

Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been honoured with an award of the Most Outstanding Governor of the Federation in the Management of COVID- 19.

Governor Ganduje was presented with the award by the Guild of Medical Laboratory Directors (GMLD) during its international conference in Abuja.

Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa represented the Governor at the occasion.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Information spokesperson, Hadiza Namadi, on Wednesday said receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, Dr Tsanyawa stated that the State government has invested a lot of resources in the fight against COVID-19 while noting that the Governor was wholly committed to improving the healthcare delivery services in the state.

‘’During the award presentation, the Executive Secretary, Private Health Institution Management Agency (PHIMA) Kano State, Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu was also presented with the award of Outstanding Performance for the agency’s massive campaign against quackery in the state, ‘’said the statement.

‘’Also in attendance at the international conference was the representative of the Vice President of Nigeria who is the DG NCDC, representative of governors of Gombe and Borno states, IGP and the President of GMLD.
