Kano state government says it has commenced investigation into a yet to be identified diseases at Dungurawa village in Dawaki Tofa local government area that has claimed lives of eight residents .
A statement signed by the public relations Officer of the state Ministry of Health, Ismail Garba Gwammaja on Tuesday said the ministry Rapid Response Team has been dispatched to the area for investigation of the strange disease.
The statement said the team that include Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Laboratory Scientists with Diseases Surveillance and Notification Officers to check the spread of the disease and provide prompt treatment to those hospitalized
It noted that the team has commenced collecting samples for investigation from some of the patients and treatment at hospitals.
The statement assured of the state government commitment to the people’s health noting that it has supplied emergency drugs and other kits to the affected community to tackle the situation promptly.
