Kano Deputy Governor, Hafiz Abubakar Resigns

Kano Deputy Governor, Prof . Hafiz Abubakar has resigned  .

The deputy governor who was said to have  being having a running battle with the governor on the issue of alligance between the Gandujiyya and Kwankwasiyya group  resigns on Sunday in a two and half minute  audio recording of his intention to drop the plump job and a letter dated 4^th August 2018 addressed to the governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Prof . Hafiz Abubakar said he would have want to remain in office till the end of their tenure to fulfill the responsibility bestowed on him and the governor by the electorate but the present situation of irreconcilable differences on matters relating to governance and government operations , personal opinions and respect for ideals and values, it would be unfair to my conscience to the good people of Kano and to you as the head of the government to continue to remain in my position as the Deputy Governor.

He said on several occasions he had drawn attention of the governor to the need to understand appreciate these differences in order to avoid drifting to unnecessary crisis bedeviling the administration presently but to no avail.

However, Solacebase recalled that last week the deputy governor had written to the state commissioner of police over threat to his life which was copied the Director, Department of State Security.

Solacebase gathered that the deputy governor got wind of moves to initiate impeach process against him by the house of Assembly tomorrow as 31 members  already signify intention to support the process.

Sources close to the deputy governor said he would soon announce his defection to the PDP, where his godfather is presently hoping to get a presidential ticket for 2019 presidential election, where he himself will contest for governor of the state.
