Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said his administration has prioritized the fight against corruption which has been identified as the bane of development, in tune with the Federal Government’s monumental effort to eliminate it.
The Governor, who spoke through the Head of Civil Service, Muhammed Awwal Na’iya at the graduation ceremony of the postgraduate students of the Anti-corruption Academy of Nigeria, ICPC, Keffi, Nassarawa State, stated that – the pursuit of this cardinal objective requires a convergence of collaborative efforts between the Federal, States and Local Governments to tackle this menace and entrench good governance through prudence, transparency and accountability.
He emphasized that the impact of this milestone achievements in our effort in the fight against corruption in Kano State is translated into meaningful developmental projects and programs which are made possible through the blocking of leakages and optimum utilization of the meager resources as opposed to what obtains in the past.
Meanwhile, a Kano born staff of the Anti-corruption Commission, Isa Mansur Bello has emerged as the best student in the one month training held at the prestigious ICPC anti-corruption Academy in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
In a remark the Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints And Anti-corruption Commission , Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, reiterated his commitment to build a strong institution that will outlive his tenure as the Chairman of the Commission, by training the staff and empowering them with modern gadgets that will ease their work.
