Kano private varsity appoints Prof. Abdulrashid Garba as Vice Chancellor

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), has appointed Professor Abdulrashid Garba as its pioneer Vice-Chancellor.

SOLACEBASE reports that Professor Abdulrashid Garba, a former Registrar, National Examination Council, NECO is a senate council member of Bayero University Kano.

With a career spanning over 33 years of teaching, research and community service experiences.

A statement issued  by Malam Yusuf Datti, on behalf of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano, on Sunday , said the appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees of the University under the chairmanship of Emeritus Professor Muhammad Sani Zahradeen.


‘’He has previously served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council (NECO) as well as special adviser to the Minister of Education which further highlight his commitment to educational development, ‘’the statement said.

According to the statement the university expresses confidence in Professor Abdulrashid Garba’s ability to lead and guide its path towards a future of excellence and distinction.

Professor Garba was born on the 11th April, 1959 and is married with nine children.
