Kano to introduce regulatory measures in operations of tricycle riders- Ganduje

Kano State Government will introduce more regulatory framework on the operations of tricycle operations in the state.

Solacebase reports that tricycle operators in Kano commenced a warning strike from Monday by withdrawing their services due to payment of the daily N100 levy.

The strike according to reports is impacting negatively on commuters that have to trek long distances and on the other hand many motorists say the action has created sanity on the roads with the absence of the tricycle riders popularly called ‘’Adaidata Sahu’’.

The Special Adviser to Kano State Governor on Media, Malam Saliu Tanko Yakasai announced this on Tuesday on his verified Twitter handle.

He said the government was initially not considering banning the activities of the tricycle operators but with the unfolding scenario, it is mooting the idea of more regulation.

Malam Saliu Yakasai said the government would soon announce modalities on how they’ll operate, hence, new measures will be introduced.

The tweet read: ‘’The Govt had no intention of banning them initially, but with this their move, they’ve opened the eyes of the govt and now it will announce modalities on how they’ll operate going forward, new measures will be introduced, which will lead to their regulation drastically.’’
