KEDCO appeals to customers over outstanding bills to sustain improved electricity supply
Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says in spite of the tremendous improvement in supply, the company has witnessed low collection which is not good for KEDCO as there are huge debts yet to be paid by its numerous customers.
Head, Corporate Communications, KEDCO, Ibrahim Sani Shawai lamented this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano.
‘’We like to reiterate that the only way to maintain the current improvement in power supply to all states in our franchise area is for customers to pay their electricity bills,’’ said the statement.
‘’We have resolved to continue to improve supply from the 18 hours further but the huge outstanding bills that customers are yet to pay is posing some serious economic restriction to our capacity to sustain the tempo.’’

According to the statement, KEDCO therefore, appeals to all our customers to assist the company in its task to sustain the improvement of power supply across the board as this can only be possible if they pay their current and outstanding bills.
‘’This will also enable KEDCO to meet up with its financial obligations to other stakeholders in the overall interest of the development of the power sector industry in the country.’’
