Kidnapped District Head Escapes From Abductors

The District Head of Birnin-Gwari, Ahaji Yusuf Yahaya that was kidnapped at gunpoint on December 18, on Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari notorious highway has escaped to from the abductors in the early hours of Friday.

The District Head escaped on Thursday night at Sabon Birni village behind Kaduna international airport around 5.30 am and send an urgent message to close associate to pick him.

A statement issued by Chairman, Birnin- Gwari Vanguard For Security and Good Governance Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari and forwarded to Solacebase on Friday confirmed this.

The statement said in the last Forty-eights hours after the release of Former Education Secretary and Wakilin Makaranta of Birnin-Gwari, Alh Ibrahim Musa, the faith of the District Head was doubtful after payment of Three million, five hundred thousand naira was made to kidnappers which they tagged part payment.

It said after the threat to the life of the District Head and Sarkin Kudu of Birnin-Gwari, he miraculously escaped to freedom after the kidnappers allegedly led by Dogo Gide went asleep.

‘’We the people of Birnin-Gwari are grateful to Allah for his freedom and others that were abducted and regained their freedom after huge ransomed has been paid,’’ said the statement.

The statement commended efforts of security volunteers and security forces stationed in the area and calling on all citizens and residents of Birnin-Gwari local area to be extra vigilance and expose informants that connived with kidnappers in their respective communities.
