KSCHMA held an in-house 3 days training.

To enhance understanding and competency in healthcare financing and social health insurance, a three-day in-house training program was organized by the Kano State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (KSCHMA).

The intensive training that will be held in two phases will be from the 6th to 8th and the 13th to 15th of July respectively, the agency brought together healthcare professionals, policymakers, and administrators from various public and private health institutions.

The training program aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of healthcare financing and the principles of social health insurance. With the rising complexity of healthcare systems in the state and the need for sustainable financing models, such training initiatives will play a crucial role in equipping healthcare professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate these challenges effectively.

In a statement by Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf applauded the effort of KSCHMA saying “The agency did a good job by organizing such an educative gathering, and to the participants, this is an eye opener on how to go about supporting the government in accessing finance, for health care development.”

“Health is one of the government’s main concerns, therefore it is our right to give them all necessary support and encouragement.”

In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical exercises, and case studies will be incorporated into the training to provide participants with hands-on experience in applying the concepts learned.

This approach will allow them to analyze real-world scenarios, identify potential challenges, and develop innovative solutions to address them.

Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, Executive Secretary of the agency, has indicated her commitment to organizing similar training programs in the future, recognizing the significance of continuous capacity-building initiatives to foster a robust and sustainable healthcare system. By equipping healthcare professionals with the necessary tools and knowledge, such training endeavors contribute to achieving the state government health coverage goal and improving the overall quality of healthcare services.

In attendance was the Principal Private Secretary to the state governor, Dr. Farouk Ahmed Kurawa, and other stakeholders.
