The Kwara Government on Tuesday said it had reversed the state’s Aviation College’s leave-without-pay directive to workers.

Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology stated this in a statement in Ilorin.

Modibbo-Kawu said that subsisting directive covered all employees in Kwara establishments including the aviation college.

She said the decision was not for anyone to go on leave without pay, adding that the administration had on several occasions,  approved special intervention funds for the International Aviation College.

According to her, in Jan. 2020, about N19.460m was approved and released to the college to pay the salaries of its staff; its aviation insurance fees; and other items needed for smooth flight operations.
