Massive deployment of Police as Buhari visit Adamawa Friday

The Police Command in Adamawa says it will deploy a substantial number of its personnel for the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Yola on Friday.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Yola.

He advised officers to display a high level of professionalism and operate within the context of the law during the visit.

“The command has prepared to deploy its men for surveillance and confidence-boosting patrols to maintain public order.

“It has also ordered the deployment of additional operational assets including police surveillance and operational teams, Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit and Crowd/Traffic Control Units,” he said.

He said police and other security agencies would be working in synergy towards ensuring law and order during the visit.

Nguroje however called on members of the public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with security agents in the course of discharging their constitutional duty.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered Buhari will be consoling with the family and people of Adamawa over the demise of late Ahmed Joda during the visit. (NAN) (www.nannews.com)

Meanwhile The Presidency has constituted a presidential delegation ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kano for the marriage of his son, Yusuf Buhari, to Zahra Bayero, on Friday.

Zahra is the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi in Kano State.

A statement by Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, on Thursday in Abuja, said President Buhari had already dispatched a high-level delegation to be led by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
