The bridge after Mowo Junction,  18km from Mokwa and about one kilometer from Tatabu bridge on Mokwa- Jebba road has collapsed due to heavy rainfall on Saturday night.

The bridge which was rehabilitated by the Federal Government in 2017 after it collapsed, has left motorists and commuters stranded.

The Federal Road Safety Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, disclosed in Abuja on Sunday that the incident has paralyzed vehicular movement on both sides of the road “as there is no thoroughfare at the moment.”

He advised motorists going to Abuja and Lagos to in the interim take Lokoja road as an alternative.Mowo Bridge

Kazeem said the Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi has ordered immediate deployment of more personnel and logistics in the proposed alternative route to cater for the anticipated upsurge in vehicular traffic.
