A non-governmental organization, Dr James King Foundation, has carried out a medical outreach at the Kano Central Custodial Centre, Kurmawa, with the aim of providing free medical services to inmates in custody.
Solacebase reports that the initiator of the foundation, Dr James King, in an address said that the foundation has a mandate of providing succour to the less privileged through the provision of medical services.
A statement issued by Nigerian Correctional Services, Kano State Command, Public Relations Officer, DSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nasarawa said that this is the second time the foundation is extending such a gesture to a custodial facility, with the first being in 2017.
‘’He went further to state that the target of the medical outreach in the custodial centre will see between 500 and 600 inmates examined and treated of various conditions such as anaemia, hypertension, heart diseases, severe malaria and many other ailments,’’ said the statement.
