Nigerian ICT firm to reward talents in West Africa 

One of the leading innovation outfits in Nigeria, ICP.Hub Sahara –  the official hub for Internet Computer protocol, is set to host a startup pitch initiative aimed at empowering startups in West African countries.

The firm in a statement by Adedayo Adebajo, co-founder of ICP.Hub Sahara, said the motive behind the initiative is to support and nurture budding entrepreneurs in Nigeria and the sub-region.

“ICP.Hub Sahara is introducing a dynamic initiative called “Innovate West Africa: Pitch Tuesday,” part of the statement reads. “This initiative invites startups operating in both Web2 and Web3 domains, including those leveraging the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), to pitch their innovative ideas for a chance to win grants and invaluable support.”

Adebajo added that startups will be invited to pitch their ideas on designated “Pitch Tuesday” sessions hosted on Twitter Space. 

“This interactive platform provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their vision, creativity, and potential impact,” he said.

He also explained that voting mechanism will be initiated on Twitter, allowing the community to vote for their favourite projects, noting that after 24 hours of voting, three winners will be selected based on community engagement and potential for growth.

“The top three winners will receive gifts of $150, $100, and $50 respectively, as an encouragement to further develop their ideas and bring them to fruition.

“Additionally, startups that have commenced building their Minimum Viable Product (MVP) will have the chance to win a substantial $5000 grant to fuel their development efforts.”

Speaking on the broad benefits of the event, he noted that participants will have access to grant funding to kickstart or scale their startup venture.

“There are networking opportunities where they will connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, mentors, and industry leaders who can provide valuable guidance and support. They will also gain access to mentorship and resources to refine your business model, strategy, and execution plan,” he said.
