Nigerians in France appreciate policeman, staff of KCPC in Kano with N1m for rejecting bribe

Nigerians in France have donated N1m (One million naira) to a Police Officer, Garba Rabo and Jamilu Buhari, staff o in Kano command over their act of integrity and discipline by rejecting bribe offered them.

Solacebase reports that in March 2021 a Police Inspector Garba Saleh Rabo, with the Operations Department, Kano State Police Command, and Jamilu Buhari of,  Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) rejected N1 million offered them as a bribe.

The duo of Inspector Garba Saleh Rabo and Jamilu Buhari are attached to the state Consumer Protection Council task force.

The two personnel, having received information that expired goods worth billions of Naira were kept in a warehouse, stormed the facility, where N1 million was offered a bribe.

A statement issued by Kano Command, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, on Monday,  said the donation from the France chapter of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) was sent through former AIG Zone 2, Ahmed Iliyasu with a letter of commendation on the acts of the two.

It said the money was donated by Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Zone 2 Command Onikan Lagos, Nigeria, France Chapter, through the former Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Lagos, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu, psc(+) (Rtd).

‘’In a letter of Appreciation sent to the Command and signed by the chairman, PCRC Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, France Chapter, Chief Bashorun Omotayo Oluwasegun, stated that, “These two Police Officers, Garba Rabo and Jamilu Buhari has made everyone to know that Integrity and Discipline are hard currency that money can’t buy and are attributes one can only attain by dedication, honesty and a structured and focus life, ‘’the statement said.

‘’This act by these Police Officers is indeed worthy of emulation by the rest of the officers especially the younger ones who just stepped their foot into the commission. This shows that there is still greater hope for Nigeria and the Commission despite the challenges bedevilling the society they distinguished themselves and proven to be heroes and icons in the commission and society.”

‘’In the conclusion, it stated that “We, therefore, pledge to offer the above officers the sum of 1,000,000 naira to motivate them and to tell them the world that we’re part of Nigerians in diaspora that support the patriotic security agents in Nigeria and the continuous existence of one United Nigeria where justice and respect for the citizens strive above personal and selfish interest.
