After about five years of factional differences, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Kano State Branch and the United Labour Congress (ULC) have decided to put their differences aside and work together as one union in order to protect the interest of the workers.
This development emerged on Thursday after a reconciliation meeting between the two groups in Kano.
NLC Chairman Kano State Branch, Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir told Solacebase on Thursday that the differences between the NLC and ULC have finally been resolved after several negotiations.
He said during the reconciliation meeting about 13 Unions have been reintegrated.
‘’The NLC and UCL will always collaborate to defend the interest of the Nigerian workers,” Minjibir said.
Also in his reaction, the former functional leader of United Labor Congress (ULC) Kano State Branch Comrade Ado Salisu Riruwai said ” we are back to our family and we are now stronger.”
Solacebase recalled that ULC led by Joe Ajaero broke away from the NLC during the 10th National Delegates Conference in 2015 following disagreements during the election.
