NSE Honours Ganduje For Patronizing Indigenous Engineers

Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) on Tuesday lauds Kano state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for patronizing indigenous Engineers, with all commitment, patriotism, and sense of responsibility.

The President of the Society, Engineer Adekunle Olumiyiwa Makuolu hailed the governor during the  National Engineering Conference, Kano 2019, themed “Building Resilient Infrastructure To Promote Sustainable Industrial Growth,” holding at The Afficent Event Centre, Kano.

This was contained in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State Abba Anwar and forwarded to Solacebase on Tuesday.

The statement said Engineer Makuolu expressed satisfaction that Kano state government gives greater emphasis to NSE members, indigenous Engineers, in what he described as “Ganduje’s Model of Infrastructural Development.”

He commended the governor on behalf of all Nigerian Engineers, that the state under Ganduje aids infrastructural uplift, which automatically turns the state into a pacesetter in national infrastructural development.

According to him, the Kano government found in them (NSE) good partners in development, adding that, “As Engineers, we are the ones cooking the infrastructural development of the country. We see it a task we must accomplish, Kano state government is doing well in promoting and supporting our profession.”

While giving the Award to the governor on behalf of Engineers in the country, the NSE President acknowledged that “You have done great things in the state. And in recognition of your contributions to our noble profession, among other factors, we are decorating you with this Award, Your Excellency Sir.”

President Muhammadu Buhari was represented by the Minister of Power, Engineer Saleh Mamman, commended indigenous Engineers for their unrelenting efforts towards infrastructural development in the country.

In his remarks governor Ganduje said “Engineering is almost everything, that is why my administration has a good working relationship with Engineers. When we were faced with serious traffic gridlock around Dangi Roundabout on Zoo road, we solicited the intervention of Engineers, who came up with a solution to that gridlock. ”

Explaining that, ” They came up with a very good idea for decongesting the area. They came up with the idea of having Three-Interchange-Flyover, all in one place. Please go and see the place for yourself. It is about to be completed. And the first of it’s kind in the country.”
