A police escort in the convoy of Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has died in a road accident while on official duty.
A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande on Friday in Abuja confirmed the accident.
It said the police escort, an outrider, Inspector Ali Gomina, 45, died in the accident on the road to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The statement the Vice President aborted the scheduled trip over the incident.

According to the statement, the Vice President described Ali Gomina as a diligent, hardworking and serious-minded officer, who will be greatly missed by the team.
‘’The police escort is survived by his wife, children and relatives. Professor Osinbajo prayed the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest, ‘’said the statement.
