Our reasons for withdrawing petition from EFCC against Senator Barau Jibrin- NYCN

Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, says it has withdrawn its petition against senator representing Kano North, Barau Jibrin with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Solacebase reports that the Council had on October 7 filed a petition to EFCC, accusing the senator of alleged money laundering, budget fraud and unlawful enrichment of his family.
Speaking to Solacebase on Monday, Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, President , Isah Abubakar said the council had to withdraw the petition when it discovered that the allegations were frivolous and fictitious.
‘’We were misled to write the petition against the Senator, only for us to be availed with better and cogent information that pointed to the fact that the lawmaker was innocent of all the allegation,’’ Abubakar told Solacebase.
‘’We realized that some people wants to use us to fight the Senator, hence we withdrew the petition from the anti-graft body on October 11.’’

Meanwhile at a news conference in Kano on Monday, the National Youth Movement Against Corruption and Social Injustice, NYMACSI, called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, to disregard any petition against the senator representing Kano North, Barau Jibrin.
President of the group, Comrade Sunusi Jaafar said the petition against the lawmaker has been withdrawn by the petitioners even with apology to the Senator.
Sanusi Jaafar also alleged that despite withdrawal of the petition from EFCC, some politicians are assidiouly working to bring the matter up with some false narratives in order to tarnish the image of the lawmaker.

Jaafar said all this is aimed at scuttling the nationally acclaimed patriotic duties being executed by this patriot and probably push him off the way.
He therefore called on Mr Jibrin “to stay focused, remain undeterred and not be distracted by noise of those who are vehemently opposes to the anti-corruption fight going on in the Senate.”
According to him, “We finally call on EFCC to ignore the rantings of political jobbers who are doing the bidding of the senator’s political enemies through the evil orchestration of unfounded and unsubstantiated allegations.’’
