Owner of Kaduna travelers mosque dies

The owner of Kaduna popular trav‎elers mosque located along Kaduna-Zaria highway, Alhaji Sule Bako, is dead.

It was gathered that the philanthropist died at a private hospital in Abuja, on Wednesday, and was buried around 1:pm in Kaduna.

According to Daily Trust, he was aged 84.

The mosque is located at Dan-Kande along Kaduna -Zaria road after Rigachikum before the Toll Gate.

Our correspondent, who visited the residence along Wushishi Road, Kaduna metropolis, observed large crowd that went to sympathise with his family.

One of his sons, Yusuf Sule Bako, described the deceased as the best father in the world that was very religious.

“He was a great father that spent his life serving Islam and the less privileged in the society. We grew up to see him assisting the less privileged and also taken care of mosques,” he said.

Similarly, a nephew of the late Bako said that the deceased left a vacuum that ‎will be difficult to fill.

He also described his death as a big loss to the family, Kaduna State and Nigeria, adding that late Bako was an exemplary leader that earned his name as Mai Gaskiya ‎when he served as caretaker committee chairman for Kaduna Local Government Area in the 80s.

He was buried according to Islamic rites. ‎Hundreds of personalities attended the funeral.

The deceased left behind 13 children and grandchildren.
