PHOTOS: ICPC to summon contractors over constituency projects in 2 LGAs of Kano State

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, (ICPC), has completed arrangements to summon contractors handling the construction of classroom blocks in Kwalli and Kofar Mazugal primary schools in Municipal and Dala local governments following uncompleted constituency projects and shoddy jobs.

The Chief Assistant Superintendent, ICPC Kano Office, Bukar Galadima stated this to Solacebase on Wednesday during a constituency and executive projects tracking exercise in Kano Central and  Northern senatorial zones.

Solacebase reports that the ICPC team during the visit to Kwalli primary school in Municipal local government and Kofar Mazugal primary school in Dala observed that the constituency project was for the year 2020 budget with paintings already peeling off and other defects while they are also not according to the specification of the contract terms, hence the commission sets machinery in place inviting the contractors over the works carried out.

Galadima said the commission team noticed that the construction of blocks at Kwalli and Kofar Mazugal primary schools, sponsored by Senator representing Kano Central was poorly carried out with roofs in bad shape and leaking and no supply of furniture.

Also, during the monitoring exercise, ICPC Lauded Senator representing Kano North, over transparency In  Execution of solar street lights projects in Ganduje town, Dawakin Tofa and Dambatta.

Recalls that, ICPC had commenced the third phase of its ‘Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking Exercise last week in 17 states including Kano and so far in Kano, the anti-graft body has visited Kiru, Bebeji, Kura, Madobi, Garum Malam, Warawa and Dawakin Kudu.

Others include Dala, Municipal, Dawakin Tofa and Dambatta.
