A leading renewable energy company in Nigeria, SIMAN Engineering Limited has unveiled some of its product in Kano with the aim of reducing energy poverty in the state.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mrs Anita Nana Okoribedo over the weekend, said the organization established over 10 years ago is committed to reducing carbon emission in Nigeria.

She said enabling the girl/boy child in science and technology-related fields and activating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) led to the company innovation of an initiative tagged ‘’One Child, One Lamp’’

‘’The one lamp, one child’’ is one of the product initiatives of the company for every schoolchild to have a solar lamp that will support and enhance their education,’’ said Anita Okoribedo.

‘’ The products of the company include Solar panels, Solar fan, Solar flood and security light.”

Also speaking at the event and Chairman of the occasion, the Managing Director, Dala Inland Dry Port Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Ahmed Rabiu commended the company for introducing the products of the Solar light in Kano that is not even only aimed at illuminating the state but with a component of training the residents and improving their capacity.

Alhaji Ahmed Rabiu said the usage of most of the products will increase economic activities in the state such as the Solar Kiosk that can be used by ‘’Suya spots’’ and phone charging points.

‘’ With my believe in these products and to support educational development in Kano, I am purchasing 10 pieces of the lamps for school pupils to be distributed to them here alongside the 10 pieces the company also wants to distribute freely to students, ‘’Ahmed Rabiu said.

Kano State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Kiru , represented by a Director in the ministry, Alhaji Abdusshakur Abba Nuhu expressed the government readiness to partner with the organization.

Solacebase reports that highlight of the occasion was the distribution of the free solar lamp to some school pupils and those that attended the lunch with the demonstration of the solar lamps.
