Kano Police Command on Tuesday launched an investigation and search for armed men that attacked Bagwai Local Government Area of the state on Monday night, killing two and leaving others injured.
A statement issued by the Command Spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Tuesday said the Police division in Bagwai local government area received a distress call at about 10.45 pm and immediately dispatched his men to attend to the situation.
‘’ On the 02/03/2020 at about 2245hrs, we received a report that unknown Armed Men entered into Galawa Village in Bagwai LGA Kano State and attacked two persons in their shops. In the process, they shot sporadically and stray bullets injured Three (3) persons. Victims were rushed to Bichi General Hospital where Two (2) died while receiving treatment,’’ said the statement.

Solacebase had reported that suspected Gunmen on Monday attacked Bagwai town, Bagwai local government area of Kano State killing two persons, injuring four others.
A source told Solacebase that the gunmen who came in a car invaded the town around 10.30 pm killing the son of a Peoples Democratic Party stalwart in the area and one-time zonal woman leader of the party in Kano North, Hajia Balaraba Sani.
The source said another young man, Muhammad aged 35 and a staff of the Health Department, Bagwai local government council, was killed during the attack that lasted for a while.
Also, two shop owners that were attacked Mr Chima Obi and Friday John said it was after they were robbed by the armed men that they started shooting sporadically that led to the death of two persons, injuring others.
Many of the residents complained about the unserviceable vehicle of the Police that hindered arresting the suspected robbers.
The statement noted that on the prompt response of the police, the hoodlums took to their heels.
According to the statement, the command’s Commissioner of Police Alhaji Habu Sani, immediately further deployed Tactical Teams of Operation Puff Adder to trail and arrest the culprits.
